Lions vs Packers Live NFL Game 2017

The Lions vs Packers on Monday, Nov. 6 in Week 9 of the 2017 season on Monday Night Football. Here’s all the info you need to watch. Remember the good old days when the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions facing off had a big-game feel to it? Well, those times have since gone, especially in relation to the 2017 NFL season. With Aaron Rodgers out, Brett Hundley in, and the Pride of the Motor City ailing, this isn’t as great of a Monday Night Football matchup as we’d hoped. Lions vs Packers Live NFL Game 2017

Having said that, there is still an abundance of talent taking the field for the Lions. Matthew Stafford is incredible and, though his supporting cast is hit-or-miss, he’s good enough to guide the team to victory himself. Early in the season, the Detroit defense really came up big as the likes of Darius Slay and rookie Jarrad Davis stepped up. The decline has been evident in recent weeks, but there’s promise from those early-week showings.

Meanwhile, the Packers without Rodgers look simply lost. Hundley has talent, but has no experience and it shows. Despite rookie running back Aaron Jones really breaking out in recent weeks, the offense has sputtered without the leader.

Perhaps the bigger issue for Green Bay entering this matchup is simply that their defense hasn’t been great either. They haven’t had much of a pass-rush, the secondary has been week, and the run D has been inconsistent. When you put that all together, it makes for a tough task for the Packers as they welcome the Lions to Lambeau Field.

This matchup surely would’ve been more enticing just a few weeks ago. However, things definitely seem more favorable now for the Lions than the Packers. Even still, we’ll see if Lambeau means that things will change on Monday night.

While no game is a give me by any means, Detroit will not have to face one of their biggest arch-nemesis when they face the Packers this evening in #Aaron Rodgers. Rogers has owned the Detroit Lions during his time as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers.

The All-Pro Packers QB has compiled a 13-3 record against the Lions throughout his career beating them in almost any way imaginable, including an untimed down hail mary at Ford Field back on December 3, 2015. Oh by the way, just like tonight’s game, that was also a nationally televised game as well.

Ameer Abdullah, Golden Tate and Matt Stafford are going to have to score touchdowns in the red zone, not field goals. Stafford threw for over 400 yards against Pittsburgh last week, yet the Lions never hit paydirt. That won’t work tonight against a tough Green Bay defense.

Both teams are playing well on defense so far in 2017. The Lions currently rank fifth in the league overall for net yard defense, while the Packers are right behind them at No. 6.

For some reason for Detroit, the mystique of Lambeau Field is real. They just can’t win there. If the Lions are a playoff caliber team, they must win tonight, period. Stafford cannot be outdueled by a rookie making his third career start.

A loss tonight would put Detroit at 3-5 on the season, and move them into a tie for last place in the NFC North – three full games behind the first place Minnesota Vikings. Lions vs Packers Live NFL Game 2017
